WP BUDDIES TOOLS

Your files. Your choices.

Most tools work in your browser. Screenshot to Link is a clearly labelled exception: it uploads an image only after you press Create shareable link and confirm permission to share.

What happens to selected files and pasted text?

Except for Screenshot to Link, selected files and pasted text are processed in browser memory and are not deliberately uploaded by the application. The QR generator encodes content locally, without a tracking redirect. The supplied tools contain no advertising scripts. Tool pages send a small first-party analytics event to WP Buddies so the owner can see which tools are used, approximate country totals and referring hostnames. Reloading a local tool discards its working state; downloaded files remain on your device. Browsers and operating systems may retain temporary data.

Screenshot uploads and sharing

When you choose to share, the screenshot is sent to WP Buddies, decoded and re-encoded, and stored outside the public website directory. The original upload is not deliberately retained after processing. Covered screenshots are uploaded as the visibly redacted result. Hosted copies can still contain any personal information visible in the image. Do not upload confidential or unlawful content.

Anyone with a sharing link can view and download its image. The service records image dimensions, file size, creation and expiry times, and a hash of the deletion key. Links expire after seven days; service cleanup removes expired files during normal screenshot-service activity or when the owner runs cleanup manually. Physical deletion can be delayed if the service receives no activity for a period. The separate deletion link allows early removal. Downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Uploaded images and share pages are marked noindex, which is not an access-control guarantee.

Tool analytics

When a tool page opens, the browser sends the tool identifier, a session-level visit flag and the referring hostname to the WP Buddies analytics endpoint. The analytics module records aggregate views, sessions, daily totals, countries and referrer hostnames. It does not store full referring URLs or query strings. A browser session flag is kept in sessionStorage so repeated refreshes can be distinguished from a new tool session.

For country reporting, the server first uses a country header supplied by the hosting/CDN when available. If no country header is available, the server may send the visitor IP address to ipwho.is solely to obtain a country code. WP Buddies Tools does not store the raw IP address in its analytics data. It stores the resulting country code and an HMAC-based anonymous cache key for up to seven days to reduce repeated country lookups. The country provider and hosting provider may process or log the IP address independently under their own policies. Country data is approximate and can be wrong for VPNs, proxies or shared networks.

Analytics data is stored privately outside the public website directory and is accessible only through the owner dashboard. The module keeps detailed daily aggregates for up to 120 days and retains all-time aggregate totals. It is intended for product usage statistics rather than user profiling.

Fair-use records and reports

The server uses a keyed hash of a visitor network address for short-lived fair-use counters, not a public IP-address listing. Rate counters expire and are removed on subsequent service requests or cleanup, normally within a day. Reports contain a reason, optional details, a keyed reporter identifier and a timestamp; they remain with the screenshot until its removal. Reports go to the owner dashboard for manual review, not automatic takedown. The hosting provider may keep independent request logs. Site backups may retain older data under the operator's separate retention policy; the operator should exclude temporary screenshot storage where appropriate.

Owner administration

There are no visitor accounts. A protected owner dashboard uses a password hash and a short-lived, HttpOnly session cookie scoped to screenshot administration. The deletion link is not deliberately saved in localStorage. Clearing local tool data below does not remove hosted screenshots; use the deletion link or contact the site owner.

Background removal and external hosts

When you choose AI background removal, the browser downloads the ONNX Runtime Web files from jsDelivr and the U2-Net portable model from Hugging Face. It sends normal network-request information, such as your IP address, to those hosts. The selected photo is processed locally and is not uploaded to them. AI assets can be self-hosted by the site operator. The solid-colour remover does not need those downloads.

Interface font

The interface requests the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. The browser contacts fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com to retrieve font styles and files. Those requests disclose ordinary connection information, including the visitor's IP address, to Google. Selected images, pasted text and tool outputs are not part of these font requests. When the font is unavailable, the interface uses a system-font fallback.

Browser storage and clipboard

Only saved-tool identifiers are stored in localStorage. Clearing favourites or your site data removes them. AI model data may be stored in Cache Storage to avoid repeat downloads. Except for explicitly shared screenshots and their server records, files, pasted text and generated passwords are not deliberately persisted by the application. Copy buttons write the chosen result to the system clipboard; other software may be able to read it.

Hosting and other software

The web host, CDN, security services and network infrastructure may log ordinary page requests. Browser extensions and modifications made by the site owner can change the privacy picture. This page describes the supplied tools package, not the entire WP Buddies website or your hosting provider.

Clearing local tool data

This does not delete files you have downloaded, your browser history, or server logs.
