How to use screenshot to link
- Choose or paste a PNG, JPG or WebP screenshot up to 5 MB.
- Check the preview, cover sensitive information if needed and confirm permission to share.
- Create your link, copy it and keep the separate deletion link to remove the image early.
Good to know
This is the exception to our browser-only tools: choosing Create shareable link uploads your screenshot to the WP Buddies server. Anyone with the link can view and download it. Links expire seven days after upload. This is unlisted sharing, not confidential storage or permanent hosting. Uploads are subject to server capacity and fair-use limits. Screenshots are decoded and re-encoded; metadata is not intentionally retained.
A few useful answers
Are screenshot links private?+
No. Links are unlisted and hard to guess, but anyone who receives the link can view or forward it. Do not share passwords, payment information or confidential client files.
Can I delete my screenshot early?+
Yes. Save the separate deletion link shown after upload, then use it to confirm deletion. Opening the deletion link alone does not delete anything. Downloaded copies cannot be recalled.
When do files disappear?+
Share links stop working seven days after upload. An hourly server cleanup job removes expired files; file deletion can be delayed if that job is unavailable. The site owner can also remove uploads.
Which files can I share?+
PNG, JPG and WebP screenshots, up to 5 MB and 10 megapixels, with no side longer than 8,000 pixels. SVG, GIF, PDF, HTML and executable files are not accepted. Sharing is for still images; animation and original file metadata are not preserved.
