THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to use remove metadata

  1. Choose images to re-export.
  2. Select a format and quality setting.
  3. Download the newly encoded copies and keep your originals separately.
Good to know

This tool re-renders pixels and does not copy source metadata. The browser encoder may write basic output information such as resolution or colour data. It does not remove information visible in the photo, identify faces, inspect embedded watermarks, or guarantee anonymity.

A few useful answers

Will GPS coordinates be copied into the new image?+

The tool does not copy EXIF or GPS fields from the source file. It produces a new pixel-based export.

Is the operation lossless?+

A JPG re-export can change pixels through compression. PNG avoids lossy image compression, but file size can increase.
