How to use sha hash generator

Good to know

Text is encoded as UTF-8 and hashed exactly as entered, including whitespace and line endings. A plain SHA hash is not encryption, authentication or a password-storage scheme. File hashing reads the entire file into memory.

Can I recover the original input from the hash?+

A cryptographic hash is designed to be one-way. This tool does not reverse hashes.

Can I use this for storing passwords?+

No. Plain SHA hashes are not suitable password storage. Use a dedicated password hashing scheme in your authentication system.
