How to use url encoder / decoder

  1. Paste the text or encoded URL.
  2. Choose component or full-URL mode.
  3. Encode or decode, then copy the output.
Good to know

Component mode encodes delimiters for one parameter value. Full-URL mode preserves structural characters such as slashes and question marks. The form-space option converts plus signs to spaces when decoding form-style values. Encoding is not encryption.

Which mode is right for a query parameter?+

Use Component mode for an individual key or value. Use Full URL only for a complete URL whose separators must stay intact.

Why does decoding sometimes fail?+

Malformed percent escapes or invalid UTF-8 sequences are rejected instead of silently changing the data.
